i tried this because i'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, but i am also a bit afraid if heights(or edges to be more precise)so i wanted to know if i could do it.

we used to have this guy that came to bookstudy drunk and he would mumble all through it, and fall asleep and wake up yelling an answer.

i never went to meeting drunk, but i certainly drank a few to get me through sometimes, took the edge off the continual damnation spewing from the stage.

another "sister" used put kahlua in her coffee cup in service.

Bethel meals

have any of you had the experience of eating with the bethel family?.

what were some of the idiosyncrasies of it?.

as i mentioned before in another thread, it was brought up to me by another jw guest after the meal that it was "as if this was like a cult" when everyone would drop their utensils on que, stand up in unison and end the meal with a prayer.

I've eaten delicious meals at Mill Hill(Uk) and have delighted in the delicacies at Pioneer schools and MT schools too!!!

Yes...prayer before and after each meal....witnessed lots of funny moments at these meals and a few fights between hubby and wifey!!

FUN!!!!!

Long time lurker says Hi!

i thought it was time i posted here, having been lurking for over 4 years (on and off).

well my wife is now out.

we never really discussed the issues i had with the troof, although she of course new what some of them were.

No to soaps.

during the time leading up to my baptism and even more so afterwards, my study conductor and her friend were always telling me how i shouldn't be watching the soaps.

(i had mentioned to them at some point how i enjoy watching emmerdale and coronation street).

they described them as being unwholesome and encouraging of immoral ways.

"Soaps are evil" mentality was heard in all my congs.....this is something i didnt agree with....i loved watching my eastenders and the bill..Elders and their wives......STOP trying to control every aspect of our lives!!!!!!
